Death anniversary of former governor Sindh observed

Death anniversary of former Governor Sindh and veteran politician Abdullah Haroon was observed here on Tuesday. References and seminars were held in various cities of Sindh province to pay tributes to services of Abdullah Haroon for country especially Sindh province.
Abdullah Haroon was born in Karachi in 1920 and joined the Muslim League at a very young age. He had the honour of serving as ADC to Quaid-i-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah when he was only 17. He became a member of the All India Muslim League in 1942 and, later, President Karachi Muslim League in 1944.
He joined the cabinet of President Ziaul Haq as federal minister of Interior in 1979 and also served as defence minister in the government of President Ghulam Ishaq Khan.
Abdullah Haroon became Governor Sindh during first PPP government of Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto from August 6, 1990 to July 18, 1993 and again from January 23, 1994 to May 21, 1994 in her second tenure.
He was also the founder of Dubai-based Khaleej Times. He died on November 6th, 2008 at the age of 88.
