08 Nov, 2012

Vice Chancellor, Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences (LUMHS0 Jamshoro Professor Mashoor Alam Shah held a meting with all the postgraduate students admitted in various courses offered by the University in different specialties while addressing at Latif Hall, LUMHS here on Wednesday.
The Vice Chancellor expressed that for many students, postgraduate study is the possibility to locate one's own position in life, undergraduate studies are sometimes not sufficient to answer the question: who the student wants to become. Postgraduate studies can be perceived as an assessment tool, through which students can narrow their options, and at the same time, expand their knowledge and set of skills.
Postgraduate studies, on the other hand, can serve a practical purpose as well, specifically if the person's current job position does not correspond to his/her degree. In such case, postgraduate studies is an opportunity to support the existent experience with a theoretical foundation corresponding to the current job position. Another driving factor for postgraduate studies can be seen through the desire for self-development.
