Taiwan stocks ended 0.61 percent lower on Thursday, joining other Asian shares in declines as investors worried about a fiscal cliff in the United States, with glass and oil counters the biggest drag. The main TAIEX index fell 44.55 points to 7,242.63, after opening down 0.8 percent. Electronics shares edged down 0.17 percent. HTC Corp bucked the trend, gaining 1.44 percent. Banking shares fell 1.5 percent. The Taiwan dollar was up by T$0.077 to trade at T$29.123.
