Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) organised a candlelight vigil on Sunday to pay tribute to Malala Yousufzai at MQM headquarters Nine Zero here. Members of the Co-ordination Committee of the MQM lit candles and expressed solidarity with Malala Yousufzai. They offered prayers for her health and security.
Deputy Convenors, Anis Ahmed Qaimkhani, Nasrin Jalil, members of the Co-ordination Committee, Senators, MNAs, MPAs, office-bearers and workers of various wings of the MQM and members of the Central Executive Council lit candles and paid tribute to Malala and prayed for early recovery of her health. They paid tributes to Malala Yousufzai for her courage and determination.
Speaking on the occasion Nasrin Jalil said that Malala was the pride of the nation. She said that Altaf Hussain, and the MQM considered the attack on Malala as equal to the attack on Pakistan itself. She said that it was a vicious conspiracy to kill the light emanating from the bright face of Pakistan.
