LCCI, SCCI sign MoU to promote trade, industry

The Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) and Sargodha Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) on Wednesday inked Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to wage joint efforts and pool their resources for the promotion of trade and industry in their respective areas of jurisdiction.
The LCCI Senior Vice President Irfan Iqbal Sheikh signed the MoU on behalf of the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry while Sargodha Chamber of Commerce and Industry was represented by its President Zia Amin Sheikh. As per MoU, both the chambers would evolve a unified strategy on the issues of common interest, share and exchange all trade-related data with each other for increasing competitiveness of goods and reducing cost of doing business.
The Lahore Camber and Sargodha Chamber of Commerce will cooperate in preparation of proposals for Excise and Taxation matters, budgetary recommendations and other national policies. Both the Chambers would conduct joint research studies to strengthen industries in their respective areas.
Speaking on the occasion, the SCCI President Zia Amin Sheikh said that the harmony between the LCCI and Sargodha Chamber of Commerce would give further boost to the inter chamber interaction. He said that Sargodha is hub of quality Citrus, wooden handicrafts and products made of salt, therefore, offer matchless opportunities for both local and foreign investors.
The LCCI Senior Vice President Irfan Iqbal Sheikh said that at this point in time the MoU between the Chambers is of special significance and it would help solve the issues being faced by the business community. He said that the LCCI and SCCI could contribute a lot in the further development of mutual trust and understanding of problems relating to trade and industry located in Lahore and Sargodha. He said that a collective stand to safeguard the interest of business community is need of the hour.
Speaking on the occasion, the LCCI Vice President Mian Abuzar Shad said that branding and innovative approach hold the key to success for businesses that want to go global. He said that the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry would extend every possible help to Sargodha Chamber of Commerce and Industry for highlighting the strengths of that area. He said that the LCCI is working on Open Door Policy to get the issues solved more efficiently.
