Shia-Sunni clashes are disturbing peace in Karachi, member MQM Rabita Committee and Sindh Minister for Information and Technology Raza Haroon said here on Wednesday. Speaking at the Meet-the-Press programme at MQM Punjab House, Haroon said under a conspiracy, Muslims of one sect are being instigated to kill followers of other schools of thought to destroy peace and tranquillity in Karachi.
Replying to various questions of media men, the MQM leader said that permanent peace could be restored in Karachi if police and Rangers were given full powers and all political parties play their positive role for this purpose. He said MQM believes in humanity, we condemn murder of any person whether Shia or Sunni as killing of an innocent person is a crime against humanity.
During the Meet-the-Press programme, MQM members central executive council Syed Shaheen Anwar Gilani, Dr Shahzad Ali Shamsie, Mobinuddin Qazi advocate, Colonel Tresseler (Retd), Tahir Asif, Asif Sukhera, MQM members Punjab's committee, Kamran Akhtar, Tahir Mahmood, Incharge Lahore Zone Waseem Khokhar, and other MQM activists were also present.
