Subdued business was seen on the wholesale grain market on Thursday as leading buyers were on the sidelines owing the high prices, dealers said. On the cereals side, Makai quoted high at Rs 2600-2625, wheat old Bardan and wheat new Bardan gained Rs 10 to Rs 3040 and Rsc3080, however, Juwar low type shed Rs 50 to Rs 2200 and the fine type held the overnight level at Rs 2300, they said.
Irri-6 Sindh low type gained Rs 50 to Rs 3300 while the best variety was unchanged at Rs 3350, according to reports, higher local prices of rice, attracting importers to buy Indian rice due to cheaper rates along with better quality, other experts said. On the seeds sector, cottonseeds oilcake with bag Sindh (new) best type shed Rs 50 to Rs 900 but the low type held the last level at Rs 800, they said.
