Hoti approves Rs 300 million grant for Edwards College

Chief Minister Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Ameer Haider Khan Hoti, approved one time grant worth Rs 300 million for historical educational institute, Edwards College Peshawar, supplementary grant of Rs 30.370 million for Cadet College Swat and Rs 10 million for Tehsil Municipal Administration (TMA) Tank. The one time grant for Edwards College will be spent on the up-gradation of the institute to a degree-awarding institution.
Edwards College was established in 1900 and was the only institute in the province that offers education at graduation level. Earlier, its degrees were being issued from Punjab University, but after 1952, its degrees are being issued from the University of Peshawar. Presently, 2,700 students have been enrolled in the College that include students from FATA, Afghanistan and Balochistan.
