Sindh University Vice Chancellor Dr Nazir A. Mughal decided to extend full support to Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) in educating voters for next general elections by disseminating information through various departments of the varsity by organising an important seminar at first stage on November 20, 2012.
This was decided in a meeting chaired by the Vice Chancellor Dr Nazir A Mughal on Friday. Professor Ghulam Ali Buriro, Mohammad Yousif Pardesi and others were also present in the meeting. Talking to the participants, the Vice Chancellor Dr Nazir A Mughal said that the prevailing Election Commission of Pakistan is striving to hold free and fair elections in order that a true and sincere leadership is elected.
"We, therefore, must extend our full support and co-operation to join our hands with ECP to strengthen it," Dr Mughal said. He directed the authorities concerned to organise a seminar on the campus with placing messages on banners and other materials at various places with University's jurisdiction so that a massive impact regarding elections could be created. Dr Mughal further said that the elections are a tool to give stability to a country's major institutions whereas Pakistan's electoral system requires that where we may work together achieving a bright future ahead.
