Only 'anti-people mafia' opposing Metro Bus Project: Shahbaz

Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said metro bus is a splendid project of public service and is being opposed only by a specific anti-people mafia. He said he is ready to sacrifice even his life in the service of the masses. He said that this mega project of public interest will be completed as soon as possible.
He said that every moment is precious, therefore, work is continuing on the project round-the-clock. He said that no delay in the execution of metro bus project will be tolerated. He said that work on the project is continuing with a missionary spirit and it is his belief that even the impossible can be achieved with hard work and commitment.
He was presiding over a high level meeting to review the pace of work on metro bus project at Model Town, today. Chairman Lahore Transport Company Khawaja Ahmad Hasaan, Members Assembly Mehr Ishtiaq Ahmad, Hafiz Mian Muhammad Nauman, Chairman Planning & Development, Project Director BRT, Secretaries of Communication & Works, Energy, DCO Lahore, DG LDA, concerned authorities and contractors working on the project were present.
The meeting reviewed the pace of work on different sections of the project and important decisions were taken for the completion of the construction work within timeline. Addressing the meeting, the Chief Minister directed that contractors should observe the timeline for the completion of the construction work as it will not be extended. He said that this public welfare project is reshaping transport history and people have high hopes and expectations of this project.
Issuing instructions for formation of a steering committee headed by Chairman Planning & Development for removing hurdles in the implementation of the project, the Chief Minister directed that the pending work should be completed simultaneously. Issuing instructions to DG PHA to complete horticulture and landscaping on the route of bus service he directed that beautiful flowers and saplings be planted on the route.
Shahbaz directed Nespak authorities that a detailed and comprehensive briefing be given to him in a professional manner on the pace of work at every section of the project as well as the pending work. The Chief Minister said that the work on the rotary turn at MAO College is satisfactory and he is sure that the contractor will complete the work within stipulated period. He further directed that installation of lights operated by solar energy on the route of the project should be considered and a report should be submitted to him. The Chief Minister was also given a detailed briefing regarding the proposed project of Kalma Chowk underpass.
