I welcome the delegates and participants of the D-8 Business Forum. This Business Forum has become a regular feature on the sideline of D-8 Summit, which provides a platform for the private sector under a common umbrella to promote private sector activities within the Organisation.
D-8 consist of eight development countries in south-east Asia region: Indonesia and Malaysia; invest in central of Asia regions: Bangladesh, Pakistan and Iran; in South Eastern Europe: Turkey; in Middle-East region : Egypt and West Africa region: Nigeria region. This made it the most diversified grouping of developing countries.
I am pleased to announce that the Business Forum is organised jointly by the Board of Investment and Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce & Industry. The objective of the Business Forum is to provide the opportunities to public and private sector of the D-8 countries to unfold the potential of D-8 Countries in various sectors.
This forum will provide opportunity to the private sector of Pakistan and D-8 countries to project their potential and enter into business negotiations, which will help boosting economic relations among the D-8 countries. Leading companies are participating in the Business Forum. This Forum brings representatives of private sector to the negotiation tables to unleash their potential and exploit their comparative advantage with complementarities.
I invite the delegates of the Business Forum to look at the recent initiative of BOI in the shape of Special Economic Zones of Pakistan, which will allow the investors further liberalised incentives, improved infrastructure and investor facilitation services at One -Window which will help in reducing the cost of doing business. I welcome the investors to invest in Pakistan now, so that we establish a win-win situation in which Pakistan progresses and your investments flourishes.
