A joint sitting of the Parliament, which was scheduled to be held today (Friday), has been cancelled. According to National Assembly Secretariat sources, President Asif Ali Zardari had summoned a joint session of the Parliament, which was to be addressed by Egyptian President Mohammad Morsi. "The joint sitting has been cancelled after the Egyptian President cancelled his trip to Pakistan due to his sister's demise," they added.
Morsi was also due to participate in D-8 Summit, however, the Egyptian Vice President is representing his country at the summit on behalf of the Egyptian President. Some media reports also suggested that President Morsi has dropped his visit to Pakistan in the wake of Gaza truce between Israel and Hamas.
