Three policemen killed in attacks on checkposts

A group of militants attacked a police check post in Speen Qabar in limit of Badabher police station near Khyber Agency, killing two cops here early morning. Police sources said that a group of 40 militants equipped with sophisticated and heavy weapons stormed the check post despite heavy guarded by jointly police and Frontier Constabulary (FC) around 10am on Thursday morning.
However, the attackers managed to escape after killing two personnel in broad days light. Those, who killed in the attack, were identified as Rehman Wali and Shamsur Rehman. Following the attack, the police launched a search operation and arrested several suspected people from the area. The arrested people shifted to police station for interrogation.
When contacted Deputy Superintendent of Police Fazal Mowla, he confirmed that two policemen had been killed in retaliation with militants, and escaped native town, Akka Khel, Khyber Agency. It is worth mentioning that Speen Qabar check post lies on the border of Khyber Agency to stop militants' infiltration to the settle areas. It has been repeatedly attacked by the militants, killing several police and FC men. Police personnel also killed in a hand grenade attack by unknown miscreant on Phari Pura check post last night.
Meanwhile, police defused two explosive devices weighting of 500 gram and five kilogram respectively in jurisdiction of Gulbahar police station planted under the Sikandar Khalil Flyover. The police used water-blast mechanism for defusing the explosive material.
