The Saarc Chamber of Commerce and Industry is organising a seminar on "Energy Co-operation in South Asia: Commitments and New Dimensions" on November 24, in New Delhi with collaboration of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry(FICCI) which will be inaugurated by P Uma Shankar, Secretary, Ministry of Power, Government of India.
The seminar will be also addressed by Energy experts and business leaders from across South Asia who will deliberate upon the prevailing and emerging trends in production and consumption patterns of Energy in view of the climate change. SCCI report on Energy titled "Energy Policy in South Asia: The way Forward to promote Regional Trade" will also be launched at the seminar, being organised in partnership with the Friedrich Naumann Foundation: fur die freiheit, Regional Office, New Delhi.
Vikramjit Singh Sahney, SCCI President who will deliver the keynote address, said the seminar aimed at providing gap-analysis in respect of harnessing untapped renewable energy potential, presenting SWOT analysis of existing conventional energy resources and suggesting ways and means for barrier free flow of secured energy trade and investments, thereby ensuring greater regional co-operation-PR
