The Federal Board of Revenue has further expanded the scope regarding key posts of Chief Collectors of Customs North and South into four new positions to ensure proper monitoring and enforcement of customs laws across the country.
Sources told Business Recorder here on Thursday that the position of Chief Collector of Customs (South) has been bifurcated into two positions of Chief Collector of Customs Appraisement Karachi and Chief Collector of Customs Enforcement. In this regard, the FBR will issue a notification.
Chief Collector of Customs (North) has been divided into two positions of Chief Collector of Customs Islamabad and Chief Collector of Customs Central. The territorial jurisdiction of Chief Collector of Customs (North) Islamabad would cover Model Customs Collectorate (MCC) Sambrial, MCC Islamabad and MCC Peshawar. The jurisdiction of Chief Collector of Customs (North) Central would cover areas of MCC Preventive Lahore, Appraisement Lahore, MCC Faisalabad and MCC Multan.
Nadir Khan Hoti of Pakistan Customs Service has been given new assignment as Chief Collector of Customs (North) Islamabad. Lutfullah Virk (Pakistan Customs Service/BS-21) Director General, Directorate of Internal Audit (Customs), Lahore has been given new assignment as Chief Collector, Customs (Central), Lahore. Muhammad Nazim Saleem Chief Customs Wing FBR has been given new job of Director General, (OPS) Directorate General of Internal Audit (Customs), Lahore.
