24 Nov, 2012

Kisan Board Pakistan (KBP) has welcomed the increase in support price of wheat crop by Rs 150 per maund and restoration of subsidy on agricultural tube-wells in Balochistan province. Appreciating both decisions of the Economic Co-ordination Committee (ECC), KBP President Sardar Zafar Hussein Khan urged that other provinces should also follow the example of Balochistan and extend subsidy to the growers on agricultural tube wells.
Commenting on the decision of the federal government for enhancing the wheat support price to Rs 1,200 per maund, KBP Central President said that growers of all the provinces of Pakistan were facing same hardships and issues. He said it was welcoming that the Balochistan government had realised the issues of the growers and restored subsidy on tube wells. He also urged the growers to bring maximum area under wheat sowing to make country self-reliant in food.
