Need for Pak-Turkish cooperation in health sector stressed

Vice-chancellor Dokuz Eylul University, Izmir, Turkey Professor Dr Recep Yaparel has emphasised the need for greater co-operation between Turkey and Pakistan in health sector. He said during the visit to University of Health Sciences (UHS) on Friday. The 9-member Turkish delegation comprising specialists in obstetrics and gynaecology, paediatric surgery, cardiologist etc, visited various departments of the university.
Talking to Turkish delegation, UHS vice-chancellor Professor I.A. Naveed said that Pakistan and Turkey are bound in eternal elations of friendship, brotherhood and affection, which are getting stronger with time. "People of Pakistan know that Turkey has supported them in difficult times and, therefore, our hearts beat in unison with our Turkish brethren", he said.
Professor Naveed further said that the unprecedented and rapid progress made by Turkey during recent decades served as a unique role model for Pakistan. He added that the close co-operation between Pakistan and Turkey especially in Punjab, for execution of welfare and development projects in various fields including transport and solid waste management was highly praiseworthy.
Professor Dr Recep Yaparel said that Turkey's deep commitment to and friendship with people of Pakistan is no secret. He said that the visit of Turkish delegation to UHS world open new chapters in co-operation especially in the field of medical education and health research. On this occasion, UHS VC appointed four members of the delegation as the adjunct faculty of the university.
