The Lahore High Court has issued notice to PML-Q MNA Chaudhry Liaqat Bhatti through speaker National Assembly as he failed to appear before the court. The court passed this direction in a petition seeking disqualification of the MNA. Petitioner, Ahmed Waheed Khan, in the petition had submitted that the MNA participated in the election on the basis of bogus graduation degree in 2008. He said the respondent stood disqualified under Article 62 and 63 of the constitution.
He, therefore, prayed to the court to direct the election commissioner for re-election in the respondent's constituency.
