Special package for dissident Baloch leaders announced

A high-level meeting, chaired by Governor Balochistan Nawab Zulfiqar Ali Magsi, on Wednesday announced a special package and incentives for dissident Baloch leaders, besides pledging to form a donation fund and provision of dignified means of livelihood to dissident activists if they shunned violence.
The meeting of the apex committee was also attended by Chief Minister Nawab Mohammad Aslam Raisani, Commandant of the Southern Command Lieutenant-General Mohammad Alam Khattak, Chief Secretary Babar Yaqoob Fateh Mohamamd, IG FC Major-General Obaidullah Khan Khattak, IG Police Tariq Umer Khitab and Home Secretary Mohammad Akbar Hussain Durani.
Calling for the return of all dissident to the mainstream national politics, participants of the meeting agreed: "Those who (took to) the mountains and took (up) arms for the resolution of their issues will be welcomed if they shun violence and withdraw (from the) armed movement." The meeting also called for taking concrete steps for the resolution of tribal feuds and shared various proposals for bringing tangible improvement in the law and order situation in Balochistan.
