The Jamaat-i-Islami presented a revolutionary manifesto that promises the enforcement of the rule of the Quran and the Sunnah, freedom from the US slavery, economic progress and prosperity, security of the citizens, supremacy of the Constitution and the law besides eradication of corruption, nepotism, injustice and exploitation.
While talking in a breakfast meeting with the party workers on Sunday, the JI Secretary-General, Liaqat Baloch said the JI would give a surprise to the nation in the coming elections.
He said that the need of the hour is that an interim government is to be announced without delay and new voters' lists are to be prepared in Karachi under the supervision of the armed forces and the rangers in the light of the Supreme Court orders.
The JI Secretary-General said that the PPP, the PML(Q), the ANP and MQM had done irreparable damage to the country on all fronts. The masses faced price hike, the rulers had shown disrespect to the orders of the judiciary and failed to provide security to the masses and to control terrorism. The country stood isolated due to the wrong foreign policy. Therefore, he said the nation should reject all these parties in the coming elections. He said the JI is trying its best for the unity of the religious parties.
