The National Assembly's Standing Committee on Petroleum and Natural Resources has recommended the government to bring CNG tariff at par with the tariff of industrial sector which would reduce the commodity price by Rs 9.5 per kg.
Ghiyas Abdullah Paracha, Chairman Supreme Council of APCNGA while sharing the official minutes of the standing committee meeting which was held the other day, said that the committee has directed the Prime Minister's Advisor on Petroleum and Natural Resources to present these suggestions to the Supreme Court on Thursday (Today). The Committee has further recommended the government to reduce taxes on the commodity, which would additionally reduce its price by Rs 5.5 per kg.
Paracha informed that a team of Competition Commission of Pakistan (CCP) visited APCNGA head office and took away all the record of APCNGA's correspondence with petroleum ministry regarding CNG consumer pricing. He said that his body has assured the CCP of full co-operation.
