Foreign Office on Saturday came up with a cautious response about Scotland Yard raid on a 'business office' in London, saying it would be premature to draw a conclusion and expressed the hope that the on-going investigation would help clear all misgivings about Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM).
"It would be premature and wrong to draw any conclusion about the raid," Foreign Office spokesman Moazzam Ahmad Khan said in response to a question regarding police raid on a business office in London in connection with MQM leader Imran Farooq's murder. The raid, which was conducted in Edgware area of London on Thursday and reported by the mainstream media, triggered many types of speculations both in the national and international media.
Media reports suggest that the search of the "business office" continued for about 10 hours during which several people were also interrogated but no one was taken into custody. "We are confident that the investigation would eventually help clear all misgivings about MQM, which is not only a coalition partner but also represents secular forces in the country," the Foreign office spokesman added.
