09 Dec, 2012

Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Amir Haider Khan Hoti on Saturday said that Kalabagh Dam as an anti-Pakhtun destructive project aimed at their destruction, adding they had neither accepted it in past and nor will do right now. Addressing a anti-Kalabagh Dam rally held here in Nishtar Hall, the chief minister said that they will not wait for expressing their views regarding the controversial dam in the Council of Common Interest (CCI) and openly rejecting it.
He said that if there was any good expectation from the project, then visionary leaders like Bacha Khan and Wali Khan would not have opposed it. He said that if they would have considered in the interest of the province, then would ultimately have supported it. He said that they are the followers of Bacha Khan and Wali Khan and while following their footprints they will oppose it more vigorously.
Amir Haider Khan Hoti said that it is not first attempt for the construction of Kalabagh Dam, but in past several so-called big political leaders and powerful rulers have also made bids to construct this dam, but Bacha Khan, Wali Khan and his companions foiled their nefarious designs. He said that Lahore High Court (LHC) has talked of discussing the project in CCI and evolving of consensus and in capacity of the representative of the province he will present his stance, but we will not wait for any such meeting. He said that their stance on the issue is clear and which they had expressed on several occasions.
