Chief Justice Lahore High Court, Justice Umar Ata Bandial has said that resolving grievances of the aggrieved people is a great virtue and asked the judges to deliver comprehensive judgements without fear or favour so that these could not be challengeable at higher forum. Dignity and credibility of courts will be enhanced with help of such judgements and this is the hallmark of the judiciary.
LHC Chief Justice said this while addressing a concluding ceremony of Capacity Building Training Course for female Civil Judges at Punjab Judicial Academy. Senior Judge, Justice Sagheer Ahmad Qadri and office-bearers of Lahore High Court Bar Association also graced the occasion.
LHC Chief Justice said that first preference of the High Court was courts of original jurisdiction where people approach first of all for redressal of their disputes. Environment, workplace and infrastructure of these courts will be improved even slashing budget of High Court so that district courts judges could decide cases with peace of mind. He stressed upon the judges to deliver comprehensive judgements that should be upheld in higher courts.
He asked them to further improve their behaviour as judges speak through their judgements, treat the lawyers equally and appreciate the counsel arguing the case well. Chief Justice asked them to inform him about ugly incidents in courts promptly so that these could be referred to Punjab Bar Council and Pakistan Bar Council whose respect and co-operation with judiciary was enviable.

Director General Punjab Judicial Academy, Justice Tanvir Ahmad Khan (Retd) and representative of trainee judges, Aysha Khalid also spoke on the occasion.
