Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan has said youth will compete against looters in upcoming general elections of the country. Addressing a public meeting in Layyah on Wednesday, Imran Khan said looters were going to contest the polls with the money they looted. "Conspiracy is being hatched to win the elections by using the money," he said.
"The youth will block the way of looters...old people will not be allowed to come to power again," he said. He vowed to build new Pakistan and said that in his era the green passport would be respected across the world. "We will build a Pakistan where poor will be able to spend respectable life." The PTI Chairman asked people of Karachi not to vote for any party that had a militant wing if they wanted to bring back peace in the city of lights.
The former cricketer turned politician said that his party had an alliance with the youth of Pakistan. "We have said it again and again that Karachi is being destroyed. The people of Karachi should decide not to vote for a party that has a militant wing," he added. He said PTI was the only party to conduct free and fair internal elections at which everyone had been given a chance to participate. He said PTI planned to strengthen the federation, while all other parties sought only to strengthen a particular province.
"You can see how all the other parties fear the PTI and we even have not taken part in elections but they are still frightened," he said. Lashing out at the Sharifs, Imran Khan asserted that the family of exhibitionist Sharif (a reference to Punjab Chief Minister Mian Shahbaz Sharif) was posing as Mughal the Great of the province. He urged the youths to get braced up to make a new Pakistan with no reign of wrongdoing therein and that everyone would get justice in the new Pakistan, adding the green passport of the new Pakistan would be respected.
Meanwhile, Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Vice Chairman of the PTI and former foreign minister, said Imran Khan had now become a public leader and the PTI had emerged as a public party. "We will open the PTI office in every locality," Qureshi announced.
