ISLAMABAD: Chairman of National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Admiral Fasih Bukhari (Retd) Friday said that Punjab province had 65 percent share in overall corruption in the country. The Chairman NAB has welcomed the formation of a Cabinet Committee to probe corruption. In a telephonic call to the Law Minister Farooq H Naek, Bukhari requested for an early meeting of the committee, the NAB spokesman said.
He said that during the conversation between the NAB chief and the law minister, Bukhari said the presence of representatives of Punjab province in cabinet committee should be ensured as Punjab was responsible for 65 percent of the corruption. Bukhari on Thursday said that according to NAB Rs 6-7 billion corruption was being committed in Pakistan on a daily basis but according to other data, the country was losing Rs 10-12 billion due to corruption daily.
