PU students hold rally in favour of campus police

Neutral students of Peshawar University (PU) of staged a rally in favour of Campus Police and demanded granting maximum powers to police for arresting lawlessness and maintenance of law and order situation on the campus.
The students were rallying against extortion, in favour of timely action and unveiling such elements by the police. The rally staged in front of Peshawar Press Club (PPC) was led by Waqas of the Department of Pharmacy, Akbar Ali of Physical Chemistry and Wasim Sajjad of Geology Department.
They were carrying placards inscribed with appeals to Governor, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Barrister Masood Kausar, Chief Minister, Amir Haider Khan Hoti, Chief Justice, Peshawar High Court, Justice Dost Mohammad Khan for granting maximum powers to Campus Police for maintenance of law and order and arresting of lawlessness and activities of anti-social elements. Neutral students appreciated the measures initiated by the SSP University Campus and SHO for the continuation of the education activities and expressed the hope that they will continue this role in the larger educational interest of the students.
