New service structure in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: YDA to hold convention to devise joint strategy

Young Doctors Association (YDA) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa announced to hold a convention to devise a joint strategy regarding future course action against delaying in provision of service structure and resolution of doctors' community problems. The announcement was made by the YDA Information Secretary Dr Waqas Khakan while addressing at a press conference at Peshawar Press Club on Monday.
Flanked by the YDA's Senior Vice President, Dr Jawad, Joint Secretary Dr Asif, Dr Anwarul Haq, he said that they had unanimously decided to hold a convention on December 19 at Post Graduate Medical Institute, Lady Reading Hospital, Peshawar in which young doctors across the province would be participated. "The decision was taken after the non-implementation of service structure", he added.
He further informed the convention basic objective to devise a joint strategy for attainment of demands, including service structure, and hurdles in delivery of better healthcare facilities in absence of adequate resources. He regretted that the government was least bothered to take steps for acceptance of our demands. "A drafted presented to relevant department was pending for last six months regarding implementation of service structure for young doctors' in the province", he maintained.
"We had launched protest campaign after using negotiation and peaceful way", Dr Waqas said. The YDA demanded of the government to immediate announce a service structure on pattern of Punjab, along with better healthcare facilities at major medical services and other periphery medical facilities in the province.
The association further demanded for removal impediments being faced by young doctors' at the Post Graduate Medical Institute, Lady Reading Hospital, Peshawar. The association warned that if the government will fail to accept demands after the scheduled doctors' convention, it would also plan to suspend emergency services and other periphery units across the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
