Annual elections 2012-13 of Karachi Bar Association (KBA) were held on Wednesday in a peaceful manner, as 3620 voters their right to vote out of the total 5885 voters. According to the unofficial results which Business Recorder received late Wednesday night, Naeem Qureshi was elected as new President of KBA by bagging 1900 votes.
Saeed-uz-Zaman was elected as a vice president, Kashif Hanif as general secretary, Nizar Tanoli as joint secretary, Abdul Qadir Meher as treasurer and Abdul Waheed Sial as libertarian. There are some 39 candidates contesting for 11 members of managing committee's position. Spokesman of the bar said the election commissioner will formally announce the results on Thursday (today). He said counting of votes on 11 MMC slots was still under way.
