Advisor to Chief Minister Punjab Begum Zakia Shahnawaz has said that special children are our precious assets and their education and upbringing was the responsibility of the parents, teachers and society. She said this while addressing an award distribution ceremony among special children, teachers and heads of special educational institutions in recognition of their services at National Special Education Centre Johar Town.
Principal of the intuition Amjad Khan, Special Assistant Naseem Bano, Dr Fahmeeda, Deputy Director Zeb-un-Nisa, Ali Mukhtar Jafferi of Rising Stars Association and Political Secretary to CM Punjab Tariq Butt attended the function. Begum Zakia Shahnawaz said that the educational institutions of special children were working in five districts and their scope was being extended all over the province so that the special children after getting education and skills could become useful citizens of society. She said that not only education and training is given to the special children in educational institutions but special attention is also paid to make them responsible citizens.
She said that she was pleased to see the special children working like normal children, special children were also the pride of our country. She stressed upon the people to supplement the efforts of the government in rehabilitation of special children. Special children also presented colourful programmes on the occasion. At the end, Begum Zakia Shahnawaz gave away shields and certificates to the children, teachers and heads of the institutions.
