Punjab Governor Sardar Latif Khosa Saturday submitted his resignation to President Asif Ali Zardari, which the latter has accepted, Business Recorder learnt on Saturday. Khosa, who arrived in Karachi along with former prime minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani, called on President Asif Ali Zardari at Bilawal House. Federal Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs, Farooq H Naik was also present.
Sources said during the meeting‚ all the leaders discussed on-going political situation in Punjab and future strategy for the province. Law Minister Farooq H Naik forwarded a summary for new Governor Punjab to the President on the occasion, sources said.
Later, former leader of PML-F Makhdoom Ahmed Mehmood, the likely governor called on President Zardari at Bilawal House, they said. President Zardari had summoned Makhdoom Ahmed at Bilawal House where both discussed professional matters, sources said. According to sources, Pir Syed Sibghatullah Shah Rashdi (Pir Pagaro) had accepted the resignation of Makhdoom Ahmed Mehmood a few days ago.
