A delegation of Jamaat-i-Islami (JI) Minority Wing led by Ameer JI Karachi Muhammad Hussain Mahenti visited various Churches in the city and offered bouquets and greetings of Christmas to Christian community on Sunday.
The delegation met with Bishop of Church of Pakistan Sadiq Daniel, Arch Bishop of Catholic Church, Bishop Joseph Quads and Bishop of Philadelphia Pantie-Castle Samuel George. Speaking on the occasion, Mahenti said JI respects others religion especially the Christian, because 'Islam teaches us lesson of love and affection.'
He said the interfaith harmony is need of the time but unfortunately international powers conspire to create misunderstandings among the followers of different religions.
The JI delegation comprised of Muslim Pervez, minority wing leader Sohan Khan Advocate, Saleem Michael, Pervez Barkat, Rayyaz Gul, Samuel Nazeer, Pervez Gill and Ashfaque Muzaffar.
