Thick fog and misty weather has disrupted normal life, road traffic, air travels and schedule of trains in Punjab during past two days. A Pakistan Railway spokesman told Business Recorder that up and down trains from Peshawar and Karachi are reaching Lahore 3 to 4 hours late due to thick fog in the morning and during the night in Punjab. The motorway police are guiding the commuters on the expressways and motorways in the province.
Meanwhile Met Office in its daily weather forecast said that foggy conditions are likely to prevail in the plain areas of Punjab and Sindh (Lahore, Gujranwala, Bahawalpur and Sukkur divisions) during night and early in the morning on Tuesday and Wednesday. It said though mainly cold & dry weather is expected in most parts of the country today, yet isolated rain with light snow over the hills is likely in Malakand division Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan. The plains of Punjab and mountainous areas of KPK, GB and Azad Kashmir are also in the grip of severe cold as temperature has dropped below zero at several places. The coldest places in the country are Skardu -15°C, Astore -07°C, Gupis -04°C, Hunza -06°C, Gilgit & Kalat -03°C, Dir -02°C.
