Security beefed up in Capital after fresh terror attacks

In the aftermath of fresh wave of terror attacks in the country, the Capital police have further beefed up security in order to avert any untoward incident. "The Capital police has beefed up security in the city particularly after senior ANP leader Bashir Ahmad Bilour's assassination in Peshawar", a senior police official said.
He said that after the recent terrorist attacks in the country, the ICT police high ups have cancelled special duties of police personnel to properly focus on law and order situation. They have deployed Rangers at sensitive buildings including Parliament House, Presidency, Prime Minister Secretariat, Supreme Court and Secretariat, he added.
The official said that police have also erected more police pickets in different parts of the city besides issuing strict directives to police officials to thoroughly check the vehicles entering the city and to keep a vigilant eye on suspects.
He said that there has been an increase in the number of police constables deployed at different big markets and authorities are also considering increasing the number of police at all the entry and exit points of the Islamabad, he said. The official said that security personnel in plainclothes with sniffer dogs have been directed to conduct search in sensitive areas of the city. Besides, police commandos equipped with sophisticated weapons have been deputed at important highways, he said.
