Punjab government pursuing policies of good governance: Khosa

Senior Advisor to Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Zulfiqar Ali Khan Khosa said that the provincial government is strictly following the policies of good governance and austerity. While addressing the 33rd meeting of Austerity Committee, Khosa said that administrative secretaries and heads of institutions should send recommendations of only genuine requirements to the Austerity Committee.
The meeting granted approval to the purchase of new vehicles and other equipment in view of setting up of the new Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education in Sahiwal. In the wake of missing facilities at Government College Jaranwala Faisalabad, the meeting gave approval to 20 computers, LCDs, printer and scanner for information technology. Similarly, approval has also been given for seven computers, seven LCDs, laser printer, scanner and fax machine for Government Degree College for Women, Lalian District Chiniot. Approval has also been given for the purchase of new Toyota Corolla, XLI for the replacement of the old vehicle of Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Sargodha while permission is granted for a double cabin two staff buses, a tractor and a 45 KV generator as well.
The Austerity Committee gave approval for 14 computers, LCDs, laser printers for Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education DG Khan, as well as eight laptops for position-holder students and other equipment. Chairman Committee, Sardar Zulfiqar Ali Khan Khosa granted an approval for the purchase of furniture and other equipment for Government Degree College for Women Haroonabad and the newly constructed hostel of government RID College Haroonabad District Bahawalnagar. Similarly approval was granted for a sum of Rs 3.0445 million for the establishment of Information Technology Department at Government Emerson College Multan and a sum of Rs 2.850 million for the provision of missing facilities at Government PG College Bosan Road Multan.
Senior Advisor Sardar Zulfiqar Ali Khan Khosa also permitted purchase of two new vehicles costing Rs 4 million for the replacement of two old vehicles of the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Lahore. Approval was also granted by the committee for the purchase of equipment for government Girls Degree College Noshera Road Gujranwala, Government Girls Degree College Wazirabad, Government Boys Degree College Gujranwala, and Government Degree 7College for Women Talvandi Bhindran, Narowal, and Government Degree College for Women Zafarwal, Narowal and Government College for Women Dinga Tehsil Kharian.
The meeting also granted approval for a new Toyota Corolla GLI, one Toyota Hiace van, two Suzuki Cultus and other equipment for Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Gujranwala. The committee also allowed Management and Professional Development Department to purchase a Corolla vehicle.
