The Quality Enhancement Cell, University of Engineering and Technology (UET), Peshawar organised a seminar on "Self Assessment Process" for faculty members and staff at Continuing Engineering Education Centre (CEEC), Hayatabad, Peshawar.
The seminar was part of series of seminars and workshops, organized by Quality Enhancement Cell to bring awareness to Self Assessment Process of Higher Education Commission (HEC) in regard to quality of higher education. Professor Dr Iftikhar Ahmad Khan, Director QEC, was the speaker. He said that top priority of the university is to ensure high quality of education in the field of engineering and technology.
He further said that the university has its own initiatives and is also working with Quality Assurance Agency (QAA) of HEC to ensure that its academic programmes are at par with international standards. The seminar covered the Self Assessment Process of HEC and its role in the enhancement of quality of academic programmes. Self assessment is an important element of academic programmes.
The objective of self assessment process is to enhance the quality of education through recognition of strengths of academic programmes and implementation of plans that address the areas of improvement. All academic programs go through self-assessment process as part of accreditation of programmes.
