What Dr Qadri is demanding, is in complete harmony and consonance with the collective wish and demand of the entire nation that the elections be held as per the articles and provisions of the constitution, under the aegis of a neutral, competent, credible and incorruptible caretaker interim dispensation, in a fair, free, transparent and peaceful electoral atmosphere.
What is wrong, unconstitutional and nefarious about this national demand and where is it in conflict with the rules of election commission and law of the land? The shelving of the Asghar Khan case by the ruling PPP, joint selection, appointment of a governor in Punjab by the overt adversaries, covert partners and the reported 'muk-muka' with regards to the make up of a caretaker government and in the backdrop of an almost 5 years of PPP and PML-N courtship, make it crystal clear that the PPP and PML-N are two sides of the same coin.
Red herrings are being released by the vested interest with regards to application of constitutional prerequisites pertaining to the reputation and personal qualities to qualify as candidates desirous of contesting the next elections by asking a silly question as to where the 'angels' are going to come from to contest the elections, described as "sadiq and ameen"? If there are a few "satan" sitting in the cabinets and inside the legislative assemblies, so are the hundreds and thousands of "angels", sitting outside across the country, within Pakistan.
Lastly, the undersigned is no fan of Dr Qadri and does not know much about him, however, what he is demanding touches the hearts and minds of majority of Pakistanis who have been taken for a ride and to the cleaners by the current crop of corrupt and crooked politicians. This is the time to make a paradigm shift in the electoral process of the country, as dictated by the constitutional provisions and bring about a real change in the governance of the country, across the board and this can only happen if the corrupt and crooked politicians are rendered incapacitated, for good.
