Five flood-affected kids burnt to death in Balochistan camp

At least five children were reportedly killed when fire broke out in a village of Nasirabad district late Thursday night. Police sources told APP that fire erupted at late night between Thursday and Friday at about 2am in one of flood victim in tent city set up in village Muhammad Omar Umrani near Dera Murad Jamali, the district headquarters of Nasirabad district that engulfed over dozens other tents, killing at least five children and injuring several other people.
"The fire eruption that was caused by sparks emanated from a stove in a tent got triggered by strong winds engulfed over dozens of tents. Young people got escape from the burning tents, however, five sleeping children could not be rescued and they burnt to death alive," a local police officer said.
The district administration contended that flash floods triggered by heavy monsoon rains had displaced and made tens of thousands of people homeless in three districts of Nasirabad, Jaffarabad and Jhal Magsi forcing them to live in tents in this very cold and biting chilled weather. They further said that flood victims living in these tents used to burnt fire at night to save them biting cold winds.
