NH&MP foils smuggling bid

The National Highway and Motorway Police (NH&MP) foiled a attempt to smuggle huge quantity of narcotics including over 5 kilogram chars from Peshawar to Punjab on Islamabad-Peshawar motorway (M-1) near Burhan interchange on Sunday.
NH&MP spokesman Umer Shoaib told newsmen at camp office Burhan that acting on a tip off, a NH&MP patrol stopped a car bearing number IDD-679 and over 5 kilogram chars recovered from the hidden parts of the vehicle.
Police also arrested accused identified as Babu Gull resident of Battgram, stated to be member of inter provincial gang of narcotics smugglers. Later, the vehicle along with narcotics was handed over the Anti Narcotics Force officials for further investigation.
