Pakistan has received $2.37 billion from multilateral and bilateral donors during the calendar year 2012. Data obtained by this correspondent showed that the country received $826.1 million from multilateral donors while $1.6 billion was received from bilaterals from January to December this year.
Among multilateral donors, World Bank remained the major loan provider by releasing $546.7 million. ADB released $ 222.5 million while IDB disbursed $56.9 million.
USA released $824.8 million to Pakistan during the current calendar year. Out of $824.8 million, $817 million were released by USAID. UK disbursed $71.8 million, Australia $61.4 million, European Union $21 million, Saudi Arabia $1.4 million and Japan released $388 million.
Like in calendar year 2011, Pakistan did not receive any support from multilaterals under programme lending. During the first six months of the current fiscal year 2012-13, non-availability of budgetary support by the multilateral financial institutions has already resulted in disbursement of $284.21 during the first six months of the current fiscal year (June-December 2012).
