The law enforcing agencies will ensure foolproof security arrangements through concentrated efforts for protection of the mourners in processions and Majalis which will be organised on the eve of Chehlum of Hazrat Imam Hussain (R.A), in the city.
Reviewing a report about security plan of the Chehlum of Hazrat Imam Hussain (R.A), the Sindh Police Chief has directed the officials to adopt strict security measures on the eve of Chehlum, said a statement issued on Sunday. The IGP Sindh has directed that besides security of mourners, meaningful measures be taken for security of the people.
Monitoring of the main procession from the watch towers as well as deployment of the security personnel at the roof-top on the high-rise buildings on the route of main Chehlum procession will also be ensured.
The monitoring of the Chehlum procession from the Command and Control Center in the Central Police Office and from the Monitoring Room at Nishter Park will also be performed.
It said that the concerned officials will ensure the implementation of the directives with regard to Chehlum security plan.
The Security Plan said that district and divisional SSPs and SHOs will ensure close co-ordination with the Ulema in connection with the establishment of peaceful environment.
The DIG Traffic is directed to make necessary arrangements and deploy the traffic police personnel to ensure smooth flow of traffic on the eve of Chehlum of Hazrat Imam Hussain (R.A). The volunteers of the Chehlum processions will not be allowed to control traffic, it said.
