Security arrangements for Chehlum of Imam Hussain (RA) reviewed

Senior Advisor to Chief Minister Punjab, Senator Sardar Zulfiqar Ali Khan Khosa while reviewing security arrangements for Chehlum Imam Hussain (RA), said that no laxity in security arrangements will be tolerated at any cost and all concerning departments should co-ordinate completely so that the provision of foolproof security to all processions of Chehlum Imam Hussain (RA) could be made possible.
Punjab Auqaf Minister Haji Ehsanuddin Qureshi, Education Minister Mujtaba Shuja-ur-Rehman, MNA Mian Marghoob Ahmed, Secretary Auqaf, IG Punjab, Commissioner Lahore Division, Additional Home Secretary, Additional Secretary Information, Additional IG Special Branch and DCO Lahore were also present on the occasion.
Sardar Zulfiqar Ali Khan Khosa ordered authorities concerned to provide yellow lights to processions in case of fog. He also ordered that loadshedding should not be carried out for processions and Majalis. He ordered the Home Secretary to immediately get detailed reports of security arrangements from all DCOs, RPOs and DPOs.
They also discussed various proposals for the suspension of mobile phone service during processions of Chehlum Imam Hussain. Sardar Zulfiqar Ali Khan Khosa said DCOs will decide on the ban on the pillion riding according to the requirements of their districts. He also ordered to take immediate action against persons who were booked for violating code of conduct during Muharram. He said that these are additional arrangements for Muharram processions, and security and administrative measures implemented during Muharram will remain in place on Chehlum Imam Hussain (RA).
As many as 271 processions will be taken out and 297 Majalis will be held on Chehlum of Imam Hussain (RA) in the provincial metropolis. The Commissioner of Lahore Division said that since BRT Project is in the final stages of its completion, therefore, there will be no debris on routes of Chehlum processions.
