Air Marshal Mujahid Anwar Khan took charge of Pakistan Air Force (PAF) during a ceremony on Monday, as Air Chief Marshal Sohail Aman retired today.
The change of command ceremony was held in Islamabad, in which Marshal Sohail Aman pinned the new ranks on Air Marshal Mujahid Anwar Khan and handed over the command of PAF to him.
Air Marshal Khan has become the 22nd chief of PAF after being appointed by the government on March 16.
Addressing the ceremony, Marshal Aman said that it was an honor for him to lead the best air forces of the world. He further said that PAF has always played a significant role in protecting the country.
Marshal Anwar has been awarded Hilal-i-Imtiaz (Military), Sitara-i-Imtiaz (Military) and Tamgha-i-Imtiaz (Military) for his meritorious services.
Born on December 23, 1962, Air Marshal Khan was commissioned in GD (P) Branch of Pakistan Air Force in December, 1983. He is the recipient of coveted Sword of Honour, Best Pilot Trophy and Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee Gold Medal from PAF Academy Asghar Khan.
