After JUI (F) and BNP (Awami), the two coalition partners in the former Balochistan government, Awami National Party (ANP) has also demanded for lifting Governor rule in the province. Talking to media outside the Parliament House on Monday, Senator Afrasiab Khattak, a spokesman Senator Zahid Khan and Senator Daud Khan said that the provincial assembly be given its constitutional right to decide about future of the province.
They said the Governor rule is not a tribal war fare which could continue for one hundred years. Afrasiab Khattak said a consultative meeting of the ANP was held under the chairmanship of Asfandyar Wali and Balochistan party leadership was also consulted. He said the meeting also demanded for the lifting of the governor rule. He said situation in Balochistan is totally different now because when the governor rule was imposed, there was a crisis and it was feared that it would take the entire country in its fold. They said the ANP would welcome dialogue with Taliban at any level or by any party including the JUI (F), Jamaat-i-Islami and the PML-N as they want peace.
