Research scholars have presented their proposals for Second Research Competitive Grants Conference Program here on Saturday to Pakistan Strategy Support Programme funded by the USAID. The research proposals mainly encompassed vibrant markets and improved governance.
The PSSP is supported by the USAID to foster innovation within the academic and contribute to pro-poor economic growth by strengthening national capacity to design and implement evidence based policies. The research proposal submitted by Dr Anjum Fayyaz of LUMS was on Global Value Chain, Industrial Cluster and Networks. The core argument of his proposal revolved around the significance of SMEs and how they operate as entrepreneurs in an emerging economy such as Pakistan.
The proposal also focused on how SMEs respond to the challenges while entering and integrating into global value chains (GVC) through collective efficiency as clusters, networks and strategic alliances. Dr Abdul Ghafoor of the University of Agriculture, Faisalabad, presented proposal on Fostering Entrepreneurship in Punjab's Agriculture. Dr Noor P Khan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) Agricultural University, Peshawar on Comparative Advantage and Policy Analysis of KPK Agriculture.
