Chairman Special Committee of the Parliament on Kashmir Maulana Fazlur Rahman has stated that India was using all means to crush the freedom struggle of the Kashmiris. "Now it has also started using the courts against the Kashmiris", he said. He said that India had converted the Occupied Kashmir into a cantonment, where around 800,000 security forces had been deployed; so much occupying forces had not deployed in Afghanistan and Iraq, or at any other place in the world.
The Indian forces have made the life of the Kashmiris miserable, he said. "The Kashmiri leaders are either in jails or under house arrest. Congregational prayers are not allowed in the mosques. Recently, the eminent Kashmiri leader Ali Geelani said in New Delhi that he could not say Juma prayer for the last nine months in the Occupied Kashmir", he said.
Fazlur Rahman said that India has started using courts against the Kashmiris now. The Kashmiri are being sentenced to life imprisonment, or other long punishments. Besides, Indian government is creating problem in the Occupied Kashmir or against Pakistan just to divert the attention of its masses from the internal problems, he said. "Recently, propaganda was started in the Occupied Kashmir about the nuclear war and a hue and cry was also raised over the LOC", he said.
About the execution of Afzal Guru, the Chairman Kashmir Committee said that it would further fan the flames of the Kashmiris' struggle. He said that Guru's execution had been termed by some Indian intellectuals as a travesty of justice. He said that India might kill as many as it liked but their dears and nears would continue the freedom with more intensity. He said if one Afzal Guru is killed, many Gurus will be born in the Occupied Kashmir.-PR
