Young doctors to hold rally tomorrow

12 Feb, 2013

After being failed in disrupting the metro bus inauguration ceremony on Sunday, young doctors on Monday announced to hold a rally in Lahore on Wednesday (tomorrow) to press the government to accept their demands including provision of free medicines to people from public sector hospitals. Dozens of young doctors on Monday continued their hunger strike to press the government to accept their demands.
The doctors who were on hunger strike were provided first aid after their health conditions deteriorated. General Cadre Doctors Association (CDGA) President, Dr Masood Sheikh, while addressing the GCDA executive committee meeting, said negotiation is the only respectable way of coming to a workable solution. "GCDA has tried its level best and acted as a bridge between the government and YDA to bring the issue to an amicable and respectable end," he said. Dr Masood Sheikh said that the negotiations must be restarted without delay, and the whole team must sit again and come up with new suggestions.
