Post Graduate Medical Institute and Ameer-ud-Din Medical College Principal Professor Anjam Habib Vohra has said that the nurses being the pivotal part of health sector bring message of hope and recovery for ailing humanity. He said that students are the future of our country and they should play their due role in the struggle for national progress, he said, while addressing a special function arranged in connection with the Golden jubilee of the Nursing School, Lahore General Hospital, here on Tuesday.
DG Nursing Punjab Rukhsana Kamal, Principal Post Graduate Nursing College Ishrat Ishaq, Principal Nursing School Raeesa Ishtiaq, Nursing Superintendent Razia Bano and a nurse student Asma Ibraheem also addressed on this occasion. Professor Anjam Habib Vohra said in his speech that recommendations for the up-gradation of Nursing School, LGH were being sent to the Punjab Government and Post RN classes would start very soon in the school.
He impressed upon the nurses to play their role in health education and eradication of diseases by perusing general public for adoption of pre-cautionary measures against diseases. He said that a number of important practical steps have been taken by the Government to ensure welfare and maximum promotional opportunities for nurses and now they should reciprocally respond by working hard for the prestige of their profession keeping the standard of their services very high.
He stressed the nursing community to continue their efforts to enhance their capacity and professional skills so that so as to serve the humanity according to its expectations. DG Nursing Rukhdana Kamal said in her speech that Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has regularised hundreds of nursed who had been working on contract basis since long. She said that the chief minister has also allocated funds worth millions of rupees for this community. She emphasised the nursing staff to behave in such a decent manner that general women may feel attraction to their profession.
