Tributes paid to poet Faiz Ahmed: Sindh Assembly passes two resolutions unanimously

The Sindh Assembly on Wednesday passed two resolutions unanimously to pay tribute to a legendary poet Faiz Ahmed Faiz and condemn "violence" against political figures by Punjab police. The house paid tribute to a legendary progressive poet- Faiz Ahmed Faiz for his 102nd birthday. The resolution, PPP's lady lawmaker Humera Alwani had tabled.
MQM's Faisal Sabzwari and PPP's Shehla Raza recited the verses from his poetry collection during the session to remember him for his life-time struggle for a progressive society in Pakistan. The other resolution condemned the Punjab police action against the PPP deputy parliamentary leader in Punjab Assembly, Shaukat Basra and a raid at the house of MQM's member of central committee - Iftikhar Randhawa. Sindh Senior Minister, Pir Mazharul Haq presented the second resolution.
