Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa President Pir Sabir Shah has expressed fear that any unconstitutional and anti-democratic move to delay general elections would result to disintegrate the country, adding his party would foil any such attempt to undermine democratic process through various tactics.
Speaking at a "Guest Hour Programme" here at the Press Club on Wednesday, PML-N Provincial Chief said the so-called champions of democracy were trying to delay the upcoming general elections through different means in the country. He claimed PML-N had always fought against anti-democratic forces, and blocked their ways to derail democratic process in the past. Criticising the PPP-led coalition government, he said the country was brought on verge of collapse amid prevailing vague situation. He said the incumbent rulers were completely failed to deliver all fronts. "People want only positive change by democratic process in the country," he observed.
He said the holding of timely elections could only remove sense of deprivation among the masses. Shah said the number of internal and external challenges being confronted to the state due to wrong policies of the rulers. He urged the masses to reject the corrupt faces by power of ballot in the next general elections, and only choose fair people. He said the PML-Nawaz was the only driving force to steer the country out from the crisis.
He further criticised that the government had not taken any effective steps for agriculture, social and economic lift up in the country. Whereas, he said specific people were taking fully benefits from the natural and mineral resources of the country, particularly in KP and Fata.
Commenting on the current energy crisis in the country, he said KP province had the capacity to generate more than 45,000 mega watt electricity. "No mega power project was initiated to address the growing demand of energy despite huge capacity of power generation in KP," he added.
Owing to energy and gas shortage, he maintained the industrial growth remained stagnant, while more than 4,500 industrial units alone closed down in port-city of Karachi. He said the situation was also worst in KP and Fata due to closure of industries, which was generated huge unemployment, adding that no effective measures were taken for up-gradation and rehabilitation of existing industrial units in the Faisalabad and elsewhere in the country.
PML-N Provincial President said the country was being worst of economic challenges and passing through difficult juncture of its history. In wake of poor law and order situation, he said, "People are feeling insecure and their life and property unsafe." He claimed that Punjab was much safer as compared to others parts of the country, wherein not any law and order issue, because of timely steps of the ruling PML-Nawaz government in the province. He said PML-Nawaz was only political force to bring political stability and address all issues being faced by masses in the country, and urged the masses to vote choose people by ballot, to really delivered masses during last five years.
